On the Dashboard, paste a page address into New check and select Analyze. A check usually takes a minute or two, and the report opens by itself. You can leave the page: the check keeps running and appears in your history.
Any public web page that opens without a login. Pages behind a password, a paywall or a cookie wall that hides the content can only be checked in part: the report says what could not be checked and why. Files such as PDFs or images are not checked.
A free account runs 3 checks a day, one at a time. New checks are possible again every day at 00:00 UTC. A check that fails because of a problem on our side does not count.

The score from 0 to 100 combines the areas that could be checked. Critical problems lower it the most, warnings less, and notices hardly at all. 90 and above is good, 50 to 90 needs work, below 50 has serious problems. With any critical problem the score is at most 79.
Critical problems break something for visitors or search engines now, or leave the site open to attack: a page that cannot be indexed, missing HTTPS, software with known security holes. Warnings are worth fixing but do not block anything, such as large images or missing image descriptions.
Usually the page did not answer in time, answered with a server error, or its protection turned our visit away. The check's page says why it failed, and whether it counted against your daily checks.
Yes. Anyone you send the report's address to can open it and read it, but cannot change it or start checks. The PDF button on the report saves a copy to send or print.
Speed is measured in a real browser, and the network, the server's load and the moment all play a part, so expect a few points of difference between two checks and between tools.
Add a page, choose weekly or daily checks and a time of day. PageCheck checks it on schedule and e-mails you only when something gets worse: a new critical problem, a drop in the score, or the page not answering in two checks in a row. Scheduled checks do not use your daily checks.
Yes, on the paid plans: add their addresses when you add or edit a monitored page. Each person confirms by e-mail first, and every alert has a link to stop them with one click.
In Account settings, Profile, select Change next to your e-mail. We send a code to the new address to confirm it, and a note to the old one with a link to undo the change for 7 days.
We keep your account details and your reports. In Privacy & data you can download all your data or delete your account. A deleted account can be restored for 30 days; after that it is removed.
